Welcome to the 27th EFORT Annual Congress 2026 in the beautiful, vibrant city of Málaga, Spain.
This year, the EFORT Congress will be held from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 May 2026, and we look forward to your active and enthusiastic participation.
The main theme, “Innovations and Transdisciplinarity in the Orthopaedic Future,” reflects a future that is already the present for European orthopaedics and the National Societies represented by our Federation. This forward-looking approach is embedded in the involvement and training of young orthopaedic surgeons.
Following the challenges of COVID and the post-COVID era and with thanks to the outstanding congress under the presidency of Theofilos Karachalios last year in Lyon, EFORT has been revitalized. It is now more proactive than ever in supporting our members and their National Societies across Europe. The spirit and commitment of EFORT, the very premise of its existence, are embodied in our congress. On the one hand, we represent National and Subspecialty Societies affiliated within the EU Community in matters such as medical device regulation and research and, on the other hand, we serve as a leading benchmark for orthopaedic education, particularly, for young surgeons.
To this end, we are introducing several innovations to encourage more interaction with our National Societies and to maximize the engagement of young orthopaedic surgeons. For example, dedicated sessions will feature young speakers with younger surgeons also acting as moderators. In addition, we aim to provide the highest quality education through renowned speakers and offer industry the opportunity to present high-level symposia, a traditional and well-loved feature of the EFORT Congress.
This blend of goals and strategies is essential to advancing European orthopaedics today. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to Málaga in 2026 and invite you to submit your abstracts. Together, we can create an unforgettable and inspiring memory of the Málaga Congress 2026.
